You will use a variety of different resources, including websites, a powerpoint, books if needed, and worksheets, which we will provide. After going over this module, you should have a much better understanding of Mesopotamia; how it came to be, and unfortunately, how it came to an end.
Directions:
To start off, go through the links below to get some background information on Mesopotamia. When you are finished, look over the timelines and pictures we have below. Next, you can head on to either the "activities" or "terms" sections. But as the activities description says, don't take the test until all other sections have been completed. Have a GRAND time!
Activity 1: Remember The Atlas of the Human Journey assignment? Click on the British Museum link below, and underneath Assyria, "The Palaces of Assyria," and "Warfare." To start off, go to the section on the palace. There are two options for you to choose, you can either read the story, or explore the palace. If you choose to read the story, go through each section and write 2-3 sentences summarizing what you read. If you choose to explore, go through each of the 9 areas and write 1-2 sentences summarizing what you read. Along with that, in some areas where they get more in depth with what was probably in each location (i.e. Throne Suite), choose 2 of the blue highlited items and write a brief summary describing the use or meaning of it. Under the "Warfare" section, do the same thing as you did for the palace, whether you choose to explore or the story, the concept remains the same. The explore section takes you to a page that has a big wall scene. In all, there are 6 scenes, write a short paragraph summarizing what's in each scene. Name your document "britishmuseumname"
Mesopotamia Military - Read over the WHOLE paragraph describing the military, and once you think you understand it well enough, write a one paragraph (4 sentence minimum) essay describing how you think this military had advantages over other militaries at this time. (weapons, technologies, etc.) Name this document "mesopotamianmilitaryname"

-Study Unit - There are many different options for teaching under this link, including information and worksheets, but once you have finished teaching all there is to be taught on this module, there is a print-out test for the students to take, which will show how well each and every student took in the information from this unit. TestWe will provide the tests for you. When you get to the essay section, choose two to answer out of the six listed.
